You Are a Beloved Child of God!
Let’s take a few minutes to think about the statement: “I am a beloved child of God.” Chapter 3 of 1 John verse one (NIV) opens with “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
I really like the translation of this verse in the NIV Bible because the word lavished is used. When you look up the word lavished the following adjectives are used to define it:
- Extravagant—beyond limits
- Profuse—in excess
- Extreme–greatest
- Impressive—to make a mark
- Generous–overflowing
- Give—to transfer title to someone without compensation
Just thinking about the God of the Universe, the Almighty creator loving me brings tears of joy to my eyes. He knows me by name; He loves me; He knows every hair on my head; He hears my prayers; He is with me where ever I go; and most importantly he sacrificed His one and only son to save me to give me hope and a future!
Please ponder this verse and the others below to be encouraged as we continue to fight our battle against evil. GOD IS ON OUR SIDE AND HE WILL FIGHT FOR US AS HIS BELOVED CHILDREN!
